KTE has appointed NASAA (National Association of Sustainable Agriculture, Australia) accredited by IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement) as an Organic certifying agent according to European Union rules and regulations. The first inspection was carried out in 1995 and was recommended as "conversion to organic".NASAA certified the garden as ORGANIC form June1, 1997. According to the new Japanese regulations for organic products, MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) has authorized KTE to use the JAS (Japanese Agriculture Standard) mark. Similarly KTE is certified USDA-NOP in 2004.His Majesty's Govt. of Nepal in order to encourage such ventures declared to waive VAT for the certified Organic Tea.
